Well yes and no. I am hardly a pro gun person, but the reasons for Columbine went well beyond the availability of weapons. The school was one of the first of the "mega-high schools" in the U.S. , which consolidated several schools into one. It was a windoewless factory and it set people such as the shooters up for alienation and the ultimate acts of vilence they perpetrated. Today's Columbine is a very different place and it is more likely than not that these people would have been singled out, and either put into counseling or removed from school well before they did what they did. That said the easy availablity of weapons made their acts easier and possible.
