My dad's sister. She's been on her deathbed a couple/few years with a brain tumor or something. No one really expected her to last so long, but at the same time, she's been pretty unresponsive so it's for the best. Dad's coming up from Florida days before I was to fly down (but I may be postponing 'til Easter cuz now my brother/nephew may be going down then, so now I have no idea what's going on) [I'm going as planned]. It just turned into a busy/complicated week!

I'm so sorry Geoff. My condolences to you and your family. The years of illness must really take a toll on everybody. I'll keep you and your family in my prayers.

So let's see...

I slid my car off the road and had to be towed out, then my wife was really sick and we spent the night in the hospital, and I may have another job instead of telemarketing but my references were slow getting back so I won't be able to start it on Monday if I even get it now.

That's the highlights of my past week.

Yeah, she had stomach flu really bad and so she was dehydrated. Baby's heartbeat was in the 180s, but then after she got some fluids and nausea medicine it went back down to normal (140).

Whisper, never mind Lompac, come and see me if you are heading to the UK in December. I'm not to far from London smile

One of my best pals at work has been suffering from various chest infections the last few months. He has just been into our hospital for tests this week (the same hospital we both work in which is handy for visiting him) and apparently he has a hole in the heart eek

33 years old and he he finds out he has had it since birth and never known. He will get an operation soon and hopefully be ok. He is a big lad though,21 stones plus,so i think he may need to drop a few pounds!

LN, make sure that your wife keeps drinking lots of water. I spoke to a friend last night, and all three of her kids had that stomach bug. She said it was horrible, plus of course they got it one after the other.

That's a lot of stones. What does a stone weigh? About 12 lbs.?

14 lbs -- Turi had just posted on Facebook yesterday that he'd lost 1 stone since Christmas, so I only found out myself. Of course I first asked if it was a gall or bladder stone wink

Sounds like I have the other job, the one I wanted instead of having to be a telemarketer.

It's working with mentally disabled people and helping them lead (semi) normal lives. Taking them grocery shopping or helping them with household things and whatnot.

Should be fun working with them.

Wife's still slowed down by the stomach flu...they said her labs showed some food poisoning too, so I think she had food poisoning AND the stomach flu, which would explain why she was so sick.

She's drinking as much water as she can...

It takes a lot of energy to suck the life out of your mother...

I was surprised when I first found out about how fast babies heartbeats are in the womb too.

Good for you, LN! It sounds like you'll get some satisfaction out of doing work like that and I hope you find it rewarding.

LN,

How's the job search? Did you take any offers yet? Good luck to you. Hope you are in the workforce soon. wink

There will be a lot of cutbacks at my school district too (job cuts, both for certificated/classified possitions), layoffs, and budget cuts. In the words of our Principal, "brace yourselves" eek Doesn't look good.

There have also been rumors of a "golden handshake" retirement package offered to some. I say, "make me an offer I can't refuse" and I'm outta there. grin

I took an offer at this place that helps mentally challenged people live their lives semi-normally. 3-11 Monday-Friday.

I might call Barnes and Nobles back and see about working weekends there too.
