It's been a long time since I saw 3 (and it'll be a longer time til I see it again)*, but that helicopter attack was, IMHO, one of the dumbest, over-the-top scenes in the history of gangster movies. All the dons getting rubbed out at the same time in 1 was more believable that that. A big helicopter attack on a hotel in Atlantic City would stir as much negative publicity as the St Valentine's day massacre.
*No offence to anyone whose favorite movie is 3.
