I'll tell you what's sad.
Someone I know was telling me that he wanted to see that, and I told him I had some worries that it would be another lousy (idiotic) remake.
He looks at me and says, "This is a remake?"
Maybe I was naive, but I thought most people knew of the original THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL, if not necessarily seen it.
