Okay, I got the registration taken care of (the DMV is SO much better the past few years than the half-day event it used to be!). I told them for the past 2 years I haven't gotten any mail from them. They discovered that my plates had been "pulled" or something, apparently from a typo elsewhere in the state, and they weren't active. Great! The resident cop at the DMV said he got a ticket in the mail from Newark because of a typo. Maybe I'll try that excuse if I get pulled over.

...but I'm all good now. Just gotta try and get inspected before a cop shoves a ticket up my wazoo.
