Back in the 80's when I got my license and had no money, I used to buy $2 worth. But that would buy a couple of gallons.
Geez, do you remember telling the attendant, "Gimme two dollars worth of regular."
Yes. When you're a teenager with $10 in your wallet, it was a lot. But hey, it wasn't that long ago. I see people putting $5 in their tanks nowadays, and that buys less than $2 did in the 80's.
