Yeah the capo didn't appear to be too bright. If he had so far managed to avoid jail/prison at his age you would think that he would be starting to avoid risky activities. So why in the world would he be dealing directly with an associate anyway. That's what lower level soldiers and associates are for-to insulate the important people...
