I probably got 1950 from Chapter 28 of The Sicilian (p. 389, paperback): "Maria Lombardo Guiliano was up early that morning of July 5, 1950...." which wasn't long before Michael left, which I'll also guess as being in mid-July, 1950.



Yeah, that's correct, Geoffy. Puzo used the real date of Giuliano's death for THE SICILIAN, unlike the death of Pope John Paul I for GF3.
