Thanks SB and DS. Yeah I didn't mean to draw attention to myself but the pic wound up on the bottom of the page so...Yeah, Cooperstown was fantastic! My dad and I drove over and I don't remember exactly but I think it took about 5 or 6 hours maybe more, something like that at least. When we got there we were struck by the beauty and quaint nature of the town itself. We stayed at the Cooperstown Motel http://www.cooperstownmotel.com/ which wasn't exactly the Ritz or anything but it was clean had a television, two beds and washroom and what more do you need really? The museum itself is breathtaking and filled with so much memorabilia and so many artifacts that it will make your head spin. Just being in a place where so many historical events have taken place and the best players to ever play the game have roamed was worth the trip alone. There are many baseball card/memorabilia shops around the museum so if you have kids that are into the game and want souvenirs there are plenty of opportunities for that kinda thing. There are also many restaurants and cafes around the museum that are within walking distance. Overall I'd say without exaggeration, that it was really the experience of a liftime. I plan to go again soon and I highly recommend every baseball fan to make the trip at least once.

We stayed at the Otesaga, which is just lovely. Not to mention, it's the only Championship caliber golf course in the entire region. Cooperstown is an all-around great place for a family vacation.

Man ESPN really makes me laugh sometimes. Right now their ESPN Sports Nation poll asks the question: Which award does CC Sabathia most deserve? -NL Cy Young (38%) -NL MVP (6%) -Both (14%) -Neither (42%) The man's only played in 9 games for the Brewers and already 38% of the people think's he should get the Cy Young and 14% think he deserves both Don't get me wrong, Sabathia has been nothing short of dominant since moving to the NL (8-0 with a 1.60 ERA). But what about guys like Brandon Webb (18-4 with a 2.85 ERA) and Johan Santana (11-7 with a 2.75 ERA) who have been doing it all season?

But what about guys like Brandon Webb (18-4 with a 2.85 ERA) and Johan Santana (11-7 with a 2.75 ERA) who have been doing it all season? Those figures are unrealistic as ESPN typically presents a story overhyping an athlete and immediately puts out a poll, so the eighth graders run to their computers with a video highlight reel of Sabathia fresh in their heads, and they cast their votes. Then ESPN passes on the results as if they had scientific value. They could do a story on Manny Ramirez' couple of weeks with the Dodgers, and there'd be votes for him for MVP. The NL Cy Young is a 3 dog race with Webb in the lead, followed by Lincecum and Volquez. They have separated themselves from every other starter in the NL this season. CC Sabathia has been amazing since he arrived in Milwaukee. He had inconsistent outings for the first half of the season in Cleveland, but he will certainly command a lot of interest in the off-season, especially if he reaches and does well in the post-season. An early prediction is that he signs with the Dodgers. He's from Vallejo, liked the Dodgers growing up, and he loooooooves to bat.
