[sic.] means "as written" (they misspelled his name, but since it was in a quote, I kept it that way and didn't want anyone to think it was *my* blunder!)
I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! lol
