What was so great about Flair was that the man could cut promos that made you get excited over any match, even if it was arm wrestling at the local mall for a pretzel.

Though nothing beats how he beat Kiloff(spelled right!) in the steel cage for the belt, then Kiloff and his tag team partner beat up on Flair....then Dusty Rhodes comes in for the rescue, but as soon as the baddies are cleared, Flair has the Horsemen come into the Cage and CREAM Rhodes.

Nothing in wrestling is that heelish awesome these days...

I used to watch the Saturday evening WCW show from Turner's tiny TV studio just for the Flair promos. Another thing you'll never see in the WWE are the 60 minute matches Flair used to have against guys like Sting and Steamboat, etc.

I have to find the promo Flair cut before one his matches with Luger. It was all time favorite.

Yeah, remember when at the original Clash of the Champions, aired head-to-head with Wrestlemania IV(if I remember right), Flair defended his strap against a newcomer named Sting in a 45 minute draw, and effectively "put over" Sting as main event material.

I have/had the original Clash of the Champions on video tape. I wonder if I still have it lying around somewhere?

That's when I use to go to matches. When they were in high school gyms and little arena's. No entrance music or all that pyro.

When I was young, they used to have matches at an old converted theater near my house. Basically it was mostly WWWF jobbers headlining the card. You'd get to see guys like SD "Special Delivery" Jones actually win a match.

Mr. Kennedy's WWE Future In Doubt

There are some rumors going around that WWE could release Mr. Kennedy once his current contract expires. A source close to Kennedy believes there is something to the speculation, reports ProWrestling.NET. Kennedy is said to have lost his confidence as he is constantly being pulled in different directions by various officials. This has caused him to second guess himself. Kennedy will be out four to six months following shoulder surgery.

What's happened to Vince lately?

Yeah the poor guy has either been injured or stuck with nothing to work with after he famously screwed himself out of Main Eventing WrestleMania.

Off-TV. The fans/viewers got tired of Vince weekly as either idiotic Vince or villain Vince, and I think wisely he decided to go off television for awhile.

That said, his pop when he returns will be huge.

Has Mick Foley made his TNA debut yet?

Yeah. He confirmed it on the Opie and Anthony Show last week. I just did a search, and Wikipedia has this:

On September 3, 2008, Foley's agency, the Gillespie Agency, issued a press release that stated Foley had signed a short-term deal with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA). Foley claimed in the statement to be "very excited about the specifics of this agreement and the potential it holds". On September 4, on Foley's official My Space profile, Foley posted a blog which ended with, "See you in the Impact Zone". Foley made his TNA debut on September 5, at a TNA houseshow in hometown of Long Island by giving a short speech about how he loved the product

Is he actually gonna wrestle or be an announcer?

AFAIK, he hasn't said. Since it's a short term deal, I have a feeling he's going to wrestle.
