Poor guy: he was without a doubt the world's most famous man just a few years earlier--and now reduced to a shell.
I guess that's how it was with me and Joe Louis. I had only seen him as an old man, moving around slowly, etc. My dad used to sing his praises and always got kind of quiet when we'd see Louis on tv in his later years.
