Hey... I picked this movie up in the little bargain bin at Wally World a while back and it's pretty good. About the real life of Joseph Bonnano (sp?). It's very interesting and informative despite the horrible acting at times. Who's seen it and what do you think about it? I apologize if this is a repeat post. I attempted to post this once before, but it didn't go through for some reason.

Dreadful! Just about the only made-for-TV gangster movie I can recommend is "Honor thy Father" (1973), based on Gay Talese's book about Bill Bonanno and the "Bananna War." Stars Joe Bologna as Bill, Brenda Vaccaro as his wife Rosalie, and the great Raf Vallone as Bonanno Sr. Richard Castellano appears, in a part that's very much like Clemenza. Mark Lawrence does a very nice job as Stefano Magaddino. Well done all around.

It's a "quiet mob movie" - not anything like Goodfellas, Donnie Brasco and Casino. Lansky is a TV movie. I think there was offence taken as The Godfather wasn't mentioned in the above - aka, "We live, eat and breathe The Godfather".

DeNiro was referring to the difference in opinion that you and TB took about "Lansky", not your opinion about it not being better than Goodfellas.
