Sounds daft but Italy did'nt play that badly,they had some good chances,just could'nt score. Holland played well though,even though their first goal was blatantly off side,their next 2 were classics!


Holland played brilliantly, they kinda blew Italy away. Italy just couldn't control the game like they mostly do, but Holland did. You could say Holland beat Italy in Azzurri style. smile

The first goal also wasn't offside, since Panucci was still lying on outside of the pitch, behind the back line. As such there were still 2 players in front of Van Nistelrooy (being Buffon and Panucci), making it no offside. Weird, I know, but these are the Uefa rules.

Man of the match: leftback Van Bronckhorst, with Sneijder and Van der Sar as close seconds.
