You know what's scary? Look at all this horrible weather lately. Tornados up the ying, earthquakes cyclones, hurricanes. I am particularly thinking earthquake. Is it gonna be California's turn next? They are announcing another earthquake in Greece. Living in earthquake country, I am just a bit nervous seeing all these weather disasters. Is our turn coming up? Is this a sign?

Every now and then I get freaked out. When my kids were young they were always with me. Now, I think we will all be in different places and if this happens, communication could be lost and none of us will know if the others are ok.

For some reason I got a "freak-out" moment I guess.

I went for a walk at midnight last nigt. I walked for 3 miles. By the time I got home an hour later I was sweating so much my hair was dripping, my face was beet red and the temp was only 75.

Right now it's 87.

The Weather Channel is reporting the local site (Mineola - about 7 miles away) with a temperature of 103° (and feel-like of 111°). That can't be right!

What's really weird is that we had no days in the 80s this year, that I can recall, anyway. It's gone straight from the low 70s to the high 90s, almost overnight.

Kind of like gas jumping straight from $3.90 to $4.25.

Yeah, and the next thing you know olivant will be telling us it's normal June weather.

Maybe for Guadalajara, not Long Island.

Weather.com says it's 88 here feels like 93.

We had some severe thunderstorms earlier this evening and I lost my electric power for about three hours. The heavy rain and wind came in different stages, so I had to keep the windows closed for awhile.... it got pretty warm in the apartment.

The National Weather Service is coming out to the Bethpage golf courses today (about 5 miles away from me) to survey damage that may have been a tornado last night. Three of the five courses are closed because of a LOT of trees being blown down.

Two more days of this heat.

Today is supposed to be the hottest day yet. I have to go to a luncheon at my co-worker's at a building that's about 2 blocks away. With it being 100 degrees at lunch time I think I'd rather stay here.

I never thought I'd look forward to seeing 80 degree temperatures in my life.

I noticed the heat index hit 111° by you yesterday.

Yeah, just getting out of the car to my house was brutal. Binky just sat on the floor all day underneath the ceiling fan in the computer room. It drained her as well.

On night shift and it is so hot i can't sleep without the window open.

That's about 75°F. That'd be very pleasant here.

By comparison, it's supposed to get to 36°C here today.
