Long as I remember The rain been coming down.
Clouds of Mystery pouring Confusion on the ground.
Good men through the ages, Trying to find the sun;

I wonder how often they update that site? The price is 10 cents higher at one of the stations they listed.

They advertise for Gas Price Spotters, so it must be a call-in network. The stations for my zip are usually the cheapest in the area, so I would venture that it's reliable info. Be a spotter for your zip, Mig!

Amazing how this thread gets quiet when the prices stabilize. We're like the frog and the boiling water. If you throw a frog in boiling water, it will hop out in a hurry. If you put a frog in a pot of room temperature water and gradually turn up the heat, it will stay in the pot and boil to death. Is your pot boiling yet?

The problem with gas prices is that 90 percent of the dem's in Congress voted to not drill for oil in Alaska!

No, the problem is that the current White House administration sold their souls to Big Oil in order to land themselves in office.

And the democrats understand that MORE oil doesn't solve the problem, only reducing dependence on oil. And that ruining a natural resource isn't worth it.

Why in the world does anyone think that because oil is produced in proximity to America or in America that gas prices would be cheaper? In the early 70s a barrel of oil from overseas or from Texas was priced at about $3. Back then the US imported only about 30% of its oil. Today, domestic and foreign crude is priced the same, but we import about 60%. Why would Exxon drill for oil in Alaska and then sell it to US refiners below market?

Have you noticed that after Memorial Day weekend that gas prices have leveled off? The two weeks prior to Memorial Day the prices were climbing. Wow, what a fucking coincidence. And some people think that the US should increase oil production. Yeah, that will solve the problem. rolleyes

And how much do you want to bet that it will go way down (ok, to about $3.50) right after Labor Day, and convenient to Election Day.

I'm currently paying around $4.31/gallon. They could raise gas prices up to $10/gallon, and we'd still pay for it. Such is the reality of being a citizen of the biggest consumer of oil in the world.

How come everytime oil trades higher the price at the pump goes up that day, but when oil trades lower it takes weeks for the price to come down?

As many of you may know, I sell office and industrial real estate. One of the largest REITs in the country just sent the following email out as a way to encourage brokers to bring them tenants. What does this say, if they're willing to give each new tenant $240 per employee for signing a new lease??

Mack-Cali is offering free $20 gas cards for all of your clients' employees--every month for a whole year--with new leases signed by August 31, 2008 with five-year minimum terms.

This is our way of helping make sure the price of gas is less of a strain on your clients and their employees.

Hey, I found a solution to the gas-price problem!

Let's fuel our cars with the blood of moose and woodland creatures!

I'm off to go buy a cowboy hat.

"Somebody told me when the bomb hits, everybody in a two mile radius will be instantly sublimated, but if you lay face down on the ground for some time, avoiding the residual ripples of heat, you might survive, permanently fucked up and twisted like you're always underwater refracted. But if you do go gas, there's nothing you can do if the air that was once you is mingled and mashed with the kicked up molecules of the enemy's former body. Big-kid-tested, motherf--ker approved."

We've been holding steady at $3.89, the cheapest around here. I have seen regular at $4.05 though.

If only the blood of moose could fuel our cars, I'm all for draining their blood and eating their flesh. Those bastards could feed a family of four for a year.

I am devising a way to run cars on moose fat. It will cost only a fraction of the gas price. But I need a steady supply of moose. The ones in Alaska will last only for two weeks frown

There is a high school kid, who used to go to my wife's Montessori school, who devised his car's engine to run on used cooking oil. This isn't that unusual, but he was in the newspaper. he stops by a Chinese restaurant most nights to pick up the used cooking oil.

The car runs well, but I told him that 30 minutes after each trip, it gets hungry

The cheapest I seen it yesterday was 3.78 and that was at midnight. Today 3.97. Good thing I filled up yesterday and got gas for the lawn mower.
