MOLINO, Fla. — An elementary school teacher retiring after a 36-year career died of a heart attack moments after saying goodbye to her final class for the summer.

Sharon Smith, 57, died Friday on the way to a hospital according to her niece, Doreatha Jackson. Smith was a fourth grade teacher at Molino Park Elementary School, where she had worked since 1972.

Principal Alice Woodward said students had not been gone more than five minutes before Smith complained of shortness of breath and an ambulance was called.

"Any child who had her would tell you Sharon was their favorite teacher," said Woodward in an interview with Pensacola News Journal. "She had a caring attitude and saw something good in every child and every teacher."

Talk about a short retirement.

Well, at least she didn't die in front of the little kids.

I have just taken a break from cleaning out my closet. It's scary in there. I am officially a ridiculous pack rat, or a compulsive shopper, or maybe both. I decided to count my pairs of shoes. Grand total? 46!! Freaking 46!! If anyone's interested, it breaks down as follows: 6 pairs of boots, 11 pairs of pumps, 9 pairs of flats, 8 pairs of sandals, 2 pairs of flip-flops, 4 pairs of sneakers, and 6 pairs of evening shoes. WTF was I thinking? And I'm ashamed to admit that this is AFTER I threw some out. I won't even count my purses.

No skeletons in there?

Hell, I wouldn't be surprised. I found my daughter's Bear from Bear in the Big Blue House, which she stopped watching when she was 5! Just to put that in perspective, she starts high school in September.

I've got to clean my closet out tonight and switch from my winter to summer clothes. I also have to mow my lawn. I don't feel like doing anything.

Man, I just found out a fella who worked in our ITG department for 21 years died on Saturday. He was the guy my department would always request, because he's the only one who knew anything. The really bad thing is he was a patient upstairs in our hospital for months and no one in my department even knew it.

Now if my computer goes up I would tell them to throw it out the window, except I don't have a window.

Decided to go for a little walk and get out of the house. It started to pour the rain while I was walking. Good thing I'm not 100% sweet other wise I would've melted.

I forgot that I had left two pairs in the family room. Make it 48. Beth, that's what started all of this, the summer-winter switch. I decided that I needed some racks, so I started counting. I shouldn't have. Back to work!!

Nicole could use a good shoe rack too. All her shoes are in my closet. She must have 50 pairs of flip flops alone.

I'm not that bad though. If I counted I'd doubt I have more than 15 pairs of shoes, total.

My son decided to mow the lawn last week and phoned me in the middle of the job after the lawn mower had run out of gas. He added the gas, but couldn't get the mower started again. It turned out that he had added the gas to the oil chamber.

It took some time, but I finally got it running again.

I took care of the running out of gas problem by buying an electric mower a few weeks ago. It makes a BIG difference.

Plus, I didn't want to have to pawn something to be able to afford to buy gas to cut my grass.

I need to spread words.

Everybody should immediately, if they've not already, become aware of this show.
