I'm just glad that you didn't sleep through it, Goombah. I was betting on the snooze, but Jerry thinks it would have been the am/pm that got you. Barring a power outage, the clocks were not going to trip me up. I was up at 5:15 with my alarm, 5:30 with my wife's, and my daughter's princess alarm clock was also set. Thankfully, nobody handed me piping hot tea from the sidelines.

Well done, goombah. You did a great job for a wonderful cause. I'm our neighborhood coordinator for Amer. Cancer Soc. fundraising, which is much easier than what you have done.
You live next to one of the world's finest medical institutions, the Cleveland Clinic. In 1997 my dad was diagnosed with colon cancer, which was diagnosed early. He was lucky because his brother is a retired surgeon in Cleveland, who is very good friends with an Australian doctor, who is affiliated with the hospital and is recognized as the leading authority in colon cancer surgery and treatment. My uncle got him (Dr. Fazio)to treat my father on an expedited basis, and his recovery was complete. My family and I were extremely impressed with the professionalism, care and treatment offered at the Cleveland Clinic.

Yes, Klydon, the Clinic is one of the best hospitals in the world, not just this country. I am glad to hear a survivor story in your dad and that he has made a full recovery. It would be nice if, short of total cure, they could find a way to make all cancer treatable. There are still too many forms that are nearly impossilbe to overcome, such as brain, pancreatic, and liver cancer. Ironically enough, part of the marathon route was right by the Clinic. That was about 16 miles into it and I would have gladly taken some oxygen if they would have been offering it.

Jeez, Goombah, did you say you're still in your 30's? You look at least 50. I'm only kidding! I applaud what you've done. You're a great guy and a fun board member. Keep it up!

Very nice Goombah! You do seem "unfrazzled" after the run. The weather was pretty good no? What body of water or lake is that in the background? Thanks for sharing. TIS

What body of water or lake is that in the background? Wouldn't that be Lake Erie?
