Last Friday, we drove from Prescott AZ to Palm Desert CA to spend the weekend with relatives. Even though the distance was only 260 miles, and the terrain is similar, there's a big drop in altitude, from 5300 feet to about sea level. So, it was 34 when we left Prescott and reached 92 in Palm Desert. My uncle told me that Palm Desert had 127 days of over 100 degrees last year.
