Born,raised and still living in Newcastle upon Tyne UK

So called because back in 1100ish they knocked down the old castle and built a new one overlooking the river Tyne.
Hence the name Newcastle upon Tyne.

Very simple eh?

Used to have loads of shipyards,mines and factories. Now we have nothing except call centres for banks and stuff

People from here are called "Geordies" because years ago in some civil war we supported a fella called George. Allegedly?

We talk funny,drink a lot of beer,love sports and have great senses of humour.

Oh yes,we are one of the best cities to have a night out in,its been proved in a poll.
