Thanks Mig and pizzaboy, the only positions available for the Mets are for IT people (i.e. not me) ;\)

The problem with a lot of the job sites is that employers list openings that they full intend to fill from within, but are compelled to look outside the company. However, I would certainly give them a try.

My daughter had great success with careerbuilder.com. When all of her friends were telling her how hard it was to find a job, she spent an hour per day for less than a week sending in her resume and/or application, and she had 10 interviews and even more calls for jobs that ultimately didn't interest her. She got 3 solid job offers from there.

Have you researched any jobs with minor league teams? Quite a few of these are year round and the AAA and AA cities along the eastern seabord states (which I believe is your region) are very liveable for a young stud like yourself.

You're too young to know that song. Plus, you're probably too young to have much driving experience, so I don't wanna be on the road with you anyway! \:p

Let's keep adult things like "driving" to real men. K, Vinnie? ;\)

I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! tongue lol

I have tried them but so far have been unsuccessful. I've tried both the Yankees and Mets but now minor league teams require you to pay a fee to join this "group" and when positions open up, they e-mail you.

Yeah I'll probably just have to go ahead and do it although I don't really think it's fair. Jobs with MLB teams are posted free of charge (as are NBA) but for whatever reason, minor league job postings cost.

While the day to day baseball operations of minor league teams are related to the MLB parent teams, the business end of the teams (ticket sales, promotions, advertising, travel, etc.) are completely unrelated to MLB.

The Scranton team (the Yankees' AAA team) is owned and operated by the county, I believe, and am surprised there is a charge for an application. Maybe the county has hired a firm to run the team.

Anyway, keep plugging. Getting your foot in the door is always the toughest part. I wish you well.

The Staten Island Yankees, a minor league class A short season team that is a part of the New York Penn League, has postings all the time here in our local newspapers for job openings. You should contact them directly. I've sent you a PM with some contact information.

Here is a link to the The New York Penn League Minor League Baseball website where it has links to ALL of the minor league teams that are a part of the league.

Good luck!

WILMINGTON, N.C. - Traffic was backed up and police were called to control the crowd after a Wilmington gas station accidentally set the pump price at 35 cents a gallon.

The Wilmington Star-News reported Friday that hundreds of drivers flooded a BP station for the cheap gas after the price dropped around 9 a.m. Thursday.

Station employee Shane Weller said the price for premium gasoline was supposed to be $3.35 a gallon. He complained that customers paid the cheaper price all day without saying a word.

It was all the extra traffic that led station employees to the mistake around 6 p.m. They found it after calling their district manager, looking for permission to changing the price as a way of stemming the flow of customers.
