No, Mig - the other church just wants a letter from my church saying that I belong to a Catholic church.

I think those terms are used pretty much interchangeably. Each diocese (administrative region) is divided into parishes, each with their own central church called the parish church, where religious services take place. A Congregation is basically the people in that church. (from wiki)
