First off, anyone seen the original 1932 SCARFACE from legendary filmmaker Howard Hawkes that of course inspired the DePalma-directed remake that we all love and dig?

I finally saw it the other day...and I quite liked it. Easily one of the better, if not the best, of the gangster movies of the 1930's. The same film that was out of circulation print due to producer Howard Hughes from 1933 to 1978 because of the fuss over the violence and immoral behavior in the original(sound familiar?)

I dig both films equally, but forced to choose, I pick TONY MONTANA's movie for sure.

But really, if you can see the film, do so! I mean know many people that would refuse to see such a film because its in B&W or that its over 72 years old, but give it a chance. Even if you don't care for it, you would see how and why people like Al Pacino and Bergman dug it.
