I have the 1998 version of the DVD, and we all know about the "Beta HiFi" soundtrack and the "super8" print they used for the transfer. Having just gotten a progressive scan DVD playe and a 16x9 tube TV, I noticed that the "scope" aspect of this edition is horizontally truncated (objects look short and fat) when viewed in progressive scan. Is the new DVD version any better in quality?
Thanks

yeah is awesome in special the widescreen version,( i canĀ“t tolerate full screen ), the sound is better i guess, have dts sound and 5.1 channel in dolby, the colors are cool. The other day i saw the movie in tv was aweful, the colors and the sound sucks.

Yea, just like CD's - they can't figure out the standards and release a "good enough for the stockholders" version, then, eventually get it right and re-do it - what a waste of resources...
