For one, I'd like to know why so many night scenes are filmed on wet streets. Those wet streets are more visually appealing.

Better yet, what's with all the close-ups of the dude's face whenever he goes for the money shot?
"Somebody told me when the bomb hits, everybody in a two mile radius will be instantly sublimated, but if you lay face down on the ground for some time, avoiding the residual ripples of heat, you might survive, permanently fucked up and twisted like you're always underwater refracted. But if you do go gas, there's nothing you can do if the air that was once you is mingled and mashed with the kicked up molecules of the enemy's former body. Big-kid-tested, motherf--ker approved."

They just use extras; they'll usually let it be known somewhat publicly that they will be shooting in that area for a day or two. Then they have everyone agree to a basic contract before just shooting on that street, using pedestrians as extras. Although, I imagine period pieces would have more extraneous casting calls.

Thanks. Sometimes I notice people in the far background that have stopped to look at what's happening. I guess they can't get everybody to cooperate sometimes. Yeah. Try paying attention to the extras in the last scene of Teen Wolf sometime.

People can pay attention here (if you don't see anything the first time, focus on the top-center part of the frame): http://stacey.vox.com/library/post/teen-wolf-wang.html

In the climactic scene in Gladiator, when , the whole crowd is silent and still bar one guy scratching his head. Ridley Scott lays into him in the commentary, saying he asked if it was possible to delete the guy with some sort of post-production CGI.
...dot com bold typeface rhetoric. You go clickety click and get your head split. 'The hell you look like on a message board Discussing whether or not the Brother is hardcore?
