Does anyone think Tessio would have been a good consigliere? In the book during the mob war it talks about how Sonny realizes that Hagen wasnt a "wartime consigliere", and how the capos have mellowed w/ age. Sonny did not have the power to change the situation. Also when they find out that Tessio is the traitor Michael says "he was always the smart one". I know this is hypothetical, but maybe if he was consigliere....he may have not betrayed the family. Sorry if this has been discussed. I was just curious. So does anyone think he would have been a good one?

VITO CORLEONE (to Johnny, after glancing to see Sonny enter)

You spend time with your family?

JOHNNY

Sure I do.

VITO CORLEONE (to Johnny, but toward and about Sonny)

Good. 'Cause a man who doesn't spend time with his family can never be a real man.
