Off the top of my head, and in the late 90's or so, I liked a show called "That's Life" about a Jersey Italian American family. I don't know who t he star of the show was. My daughters and I looked forward to seeing it every week. I think it only lasted a couple years.
Also, some years ago, I was disappointed when the cancelled Amazing Stories.
