I got PF Flyers!! I am very excited! I didn't want to order them off the web, and I couldn't find them in any store near me. Yesterday I went to the local outlet mall and there they were!!!

Me and Benny the Jet with the shoes guaranteed to make you run faster and jump higher!

What are PF Flyers? Are they like those jumping shoes that Kramer wore in Seinfeld?

Aren't any of you Sandlot fans?? When I was a kid, THE sneakers to have were PF Flyers, the only sneaker guaranteed to make you run faster and jump higher. With Converse becoming popular again, some places have started carrying PF Flyers as well, but I had a hard time finding them locally. They look like this:

Beth, I knew that YOU would appreciate it!! Where's Gina??? I love it when he's trying to "pickle the beast", and he lovingly pulls the new pair of PF Flyers out of the box. Until I saw that movie, I admit that I had forgotten about them. But it's been on quite a bit lately and I have been wanting a pair for some time.

I hate roaches. Especially giant ones that look like they want to fly at my face, latch on to my clothing, and crawl all over me.

I think the one I saw tonight was payback for me trying to trick people with fake roaches.

Obviously I knew today was Saturday, but after I (obviously) didn't win Mega Millions on Tuesday, I said to myself I had to play Friday for the chance at like $350-whatever million. Obviously missed it yesterday, but in my head, I was going out tonight, had to get there to get the tickets. Wondering why no one else was on line. Even the kid was like "man, 4 people split the big prize" and in my head I'm like, "another game had a big prize?"

In any event, I have 5 chances at the measly TWELVE million on Tuesday.

Well, I hope you win that 12 million, so you'll learn your lesson!!

So, It's been an interesting day for me. The weather has been very weird here today. Hot (106) kind of muggy, reminding me somewhat of Michigan and tornado weather. While at my daughter's, there was a fire in the vicinity with black smoke darkening the sky and ashes literally falling on the ground. Sirens going, airplanes that fly over the fire to put out the flames all of course adding to the hot hot weather. Yet when it's as dry as it is here, there is always cause for concern.

Then, to top it all off we had an earthquake that centered about 10 miles from my area (4.5 but felt stronger to me). It shook the whole house, knocked a picture off the wall and sent us scrambling for cover, all the while trying to not act too panicy in front of the grandkids who were asking their mother, "what's happening mommie?" Try and explain what an earthquake is to a 3 &5 year old.

Fortunately all is well, the fire's out, no more quakes and we even managed to go eat at a great pizza/Italian restaurant called NYPD's. My calzone was great.

An interesting day to be sure.
