Fanny and Alexander*** Bergman's autobiographical movie based on his childhood. Alexander, a small boy, has a fertile imagination that he uses to escape the harsh realities of his life. Fanny, his sister is a silent partner. I wonder why the title of the movie is worded so, as clearly Fanny is a minor character in the movie. The movie is character driven and has several instances where one or the other character makes a really impacting point, many in their weakest moments. Recommended. BTW, this is a review of the theatrical release, running 188 min.
