A friend of mine ordered it from Amazon. He said if it doesn't come today, it's free (pretty sweet deal). But this was the first and last time I waited in line to get it. 2 summers ago I bought a lot on eBay for the first 5 books (all hardback, first editions for $70). When the 6th book came out, my parents just walked into Target a day or 2 after it was released and picked it up. Up until Book 6 ( Half-Blood Prince) came out, I had absolutely no interest or desire to read the books or watch the films. But something about the buzz surrounding Book 6 peeked my curiosity. When Book 6 came out, Wal-Mart was also selling the other books (all hard-cover, first editions). So I picked them all up that day. I read Books 1 through 6 in a little over 2 months. I was immediately hooked. XDCX, so I hear you're working for Target now? How's the wrist and the lawsuit against Wal-Mart? It's been awhile since I've asked. The case has been settled. Worker's comp came me a reasonable (and hefty) amount of money as compensation. But I've lost 30% use of my left hand (which really isn't a huge deal, but should any problems arise, it'll be taken care of, free of charge.) Thanks for asking. Oh and by the way, I did read chapter 1 last night and I'm about to read chapter 2 right now I'm about to start Chapter 4. One thing I was concerned about heading into this book was that there wouldn't be much humor, as the story has gotten increasingly darker as the series has progressed. But there were a few times in the first 3 chapters where I laughed out loud. So that's a good sign.

Went to Target today and laughed because I saw about 50 copies of the book in different parts of the store.
So there...lol at the tools who actually waited in line overnight for this. A friend of mine ordered it from Amazon. He said if it doesn't come today, it's free (pretty sweet deal). How would you rank it against the others? I think it was my favorite. I'll need to re-read the other ones though, since its been a while. You finished it, Bogey?

I never read any of the books but curiosity drove me to look at the last page while I was in stop n shop earlier today. Being that the ending fast forwards 19 years to a scene between Harry and his son, I assume that:
a) He lives and
b) The door is open to future books.
Am I right?

DA, Well, I meant he was an idiot for typing that. He doesn't know what the hell he's talking about, and he certainly shouldn't have posted that without spoiler tags. Even if he is wrong.
No, I don't think he was dead. I'm not sure exactly what it was, but Dumbledore said definitively that Harry wasn't dead. I'm gonna have to re-read that King's Cross chapter to try and understand it better. Lead, you're right on A, and I hope you're right on B.

So, does he die or not? Yes..My G/F has just finished today.. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH! Fucking homo. Uhhh! Djeesh. If there was one thing I did not want to read... When I saw Beth asking that, I thought, well, I'm sure no one will the answer to that question without a spoiler thingy stuff thing whose name I can't come up with now because I'm too stunned because someone just ruined a 7-book long saga for me, with some lame syllables.

Enzo,
Don't read anything into that answer.
Trust me. This reminds me of somebody who knew I'd watched the final season of The Sopranos, and, they being an avid fan, wanted to ask me about rumours regarding the finale. But in the end, when he asked it, he said right away: "in fact, don't even look at me for at least ten minutes, because I'll know by your reaction whether the rumours are true or not." Either way, he would have known.

Looks like my spoilers were right-on. That deserves another good old-fashioned wank. "Another"? Who am I kidding?
