Anyone ever had problems with their wisdom teeth? I keep getting gum infections and it is down to a nasty wisdom tooth lurking in there which is going to have to come out! I have no fear of dentists but i am not looking forward to getting this bugger pulled out Feel free to fill me in with all the horror stories you all have about wisdom teeth! It will help put my mind at rest

How funny - I just got back from the dentist with my mom and brother for our checkups. Yogi, your post reminded me immediately that I'd posted here when I had my wisdom teeth removed. I was able to find that: Link Afs, Zia, SB, and I all chat about it... Best of luck, Yogi! You'll be fine!

Well last year I had all four of them pulled out in one shot, you should have seen my x-rays, all four were growing completely sideways therefore pushing all my other teeth (forward)together, expect a lot of blood gashing out of your mouth when you first wake up. Because of all the painkillers I thought I was ok so I was walking around, talking and eating straight after, when I opened my mouth too wide and heard one of my stitches rip out from my gum, I blacked out, collapsed and bashed the side of my head on the floor, after that I stayed in bed till it healed... thank-god they put you to sleep now a days, unlike when my mum had of hers out, she was completely awake and the dentist was pulling it out with pliers while the nurse was trying to hold her head against the chair.
Overall it wasn't that bad, the painkillers they give you are pretty full on.

My dentist told me a while ago that I may have to get my wisdom teeth removed by the time I'm eighteen. But, that dentist was a bit sketchy, and I've since changed dentists... The new one hasn't said a thing of it.
It's sort of funny though, because I recently woke up, having little recollection of the night prior, and I was missing one of my wisdom teeth. Now there is just this little flap of gum in the back of my mouth that I tongue all day. So, I guess if I do have a problem, it's already 50% taken care of.

My husband had to have all 4 pulled at once. It sucked for a few days, and then it felt much better.
Does that help, Yogi? How's your mom doing? She's pretty good at the moment SB! Thanks for asking

Oh, so it's like when you swallow semen, only with dentures instead of babies?

The painkillers were nice too In the words of my friend who was in the hospital last week after a car crash, "...And then I just push this button eight or nine times when I want to go to bed."
