When I was first preparing to be a father, I too was hoping for a boy. When the big day arrived, I was naturally excited, and after nearly a full day of labor for my wife, I witnessed the entire birth before the nurses and doctor took the baby to a treatment table in the room. I went to my wife and she immediately asked me if it was a boy or girl. I had to go back to the table to see. Honestly, when my son was born, the gender never crossed my mind.

Maybe I shouldn't use "cross" and "gender" in the same sentence.

Anyway, I'm lucky and blessed tohave a daughter and two sons. A little girl will melt your heart like you never imagined.
