It seems like most of the American members can't differentiate between English accents, apparently.

So, my question is, do the English have a problem differentiating between the different American accents?

Can you tell a neutral/northern accent from a New York or Boston accent? A general southern accent from a Texan accent?

Or maybe you can spot the difference. Is that because our accents vary more drastically? Or are the English more preceptive? Maybe the English have just as much trouble differentiating except you, who are more preceptive than the general public?

I don't know. I feel I have a pretty good grasp on telling the difference between different breeds of English accent.
