-Chavo pinning Jimmy Wang Yang was also a given

-Ok, first I'm pissed that Beniot WASN'T at the PPV But Johnny Nitro with the upset over C.M. Punk almost made up for it

-The Umaga vs. Marella match going to a no decision was bullshi*t. Umaga was over BIG with the Houston crowd

-M.V.P. retains wasn't surprising

-It was GREAT to see Rick Martel back on WWE TV before the Deuce & Domino vs. Sgt. Slaughter & Jimmy Snuka match. Snuka looked too old and slow. He shouldn't have wrestled. He seriously could have hurt himself or someone else.

-Edge held onto the title. The end was pretty lame but predicatable

-Candice beating Melina was the biggest surprise

-Wow, Cena holds onto the title. I soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo didn't see that coming

---------------------------------------------------------------

Overall the PPV was pretty lame and predictable. Again, if Candice Michelle beating Melina is the PPV's biggest surprise, there's something wrong. That's the only title to change hands (the ECW title was vacant so technically no one lost it). Fore SHAME WWE! Not worth the $40

What youi didn't see Superman Cena retaining?

He'll hold onto the belt until the Apocalypse.

As for Benoit, I hope his family is ok.

Absolutely man.

Its like the main event. OK, Foley cut a promo where he wanted to brawl to prove himself worthy as a champion again. That made sense.

But as to why specifically Orton/Lashley/Booker T? Why not anyone else?

Everything is so rushed and clusterfucked these days, that its like WWE is trying to prove that it can make people not give a fuck about the story and watch everything that they give them. Its sickening.

And really, Johnny Nitro won the BELT? He was a jobber for some time on HEAT and RAW, and he beat out Punk?

Does WWE have any damn idea that it makes future superstar CM Punk look incredibly weak?

What stupid shit.

Speaking of which, I would book Orton winning the title last night.

Yes, he's a steroid-pumping, tits and ass-grabbing, European hotel room-smashing brat, but putting those personal issues aside, him winning the belt would open alot of booking possibilities.

It would set up an Orton/Cena/Lashley triple threat PPV main event at SUMMERSLAM, where the program is that while Cena and Lashley want to get revenge on the scheming opportunist who slicked his way to a title victory, Orton uses the two supermen with superman-size pushing to fight each other instead of concentrating on Orton.

I mean folks, Wrestling Booking is NOT THAT DAMN HARD AT ALL. Anyone can do it.

But apparently, WWE thinks its the 1980s all over again. Where's the mullets then?

Chris Benoit was found dead, so has his wife and child. OMG

They NEED to scrap the Fake Death Vince storyline now. Sherry Martel and Chris Benoit have both been found dead now. This whole storyline is really in bad taste after this.

What makes it more freightening is that he flew back to see his family on Saturday night because of an emergency and now all 3 are dead? There is definitely foul play somewhere.

Wow, thats fucking crazy. Cant fucking believe this. There had to be foul play.

I just checked the wwe homepag and it said RAW will be in tribute to him so hopefully they drop the dead Vince story.

Man, he was one of my favorites. This sucks. Best pure wrestler in the biz since Bret was gone.

AP_ If they DON'T drop the Vince story line and Vince DOESN'T say anything about Chris Benoit then this is an even more sad day for wrestling.

Yeah, Vince has to show up tonight. Chris was such a great guy for the sport. I dont remember him ever having any backstage problems or being a dick like so many of the top guys today.

He was more of a locker room leader from what I know.

The show should start off with Vince in the ring, explaining to people that his death was a storyline but that what happened to Benoit is NOT.

Vince is a bastard in the capitalist sense...but if WWE doesn't abort the Vince storyline, Vince will have reached a new low, one that I'll never picture picture him getting beyond.

Man, its like someone I knew for years in the family has died.

He was a legend that I've seen on TV since 1995 and live a few times, and fuck the bullshit with WCW and WWF over the years, Benoit was money.

God dammit.

Benoit was like Hart: Professionals who's sad fates got fucked by not willing to blow job the politicking shitheads who dominated and held them or bullshit them back for years.

What I damn hate is that Benoit just got off a good program where he made MVP look like a million dollars. His ECW tenure was to make Elijah Burke, CM Punk, and other talented future-star prospects to climb up the ladder...

God dammit again.

Yeah, he was a true pro willing to let the younger guys shine. Not a lot of wrestlers like him left.

Really, Benoit's clique of guys who worked with him in Japan, Mexico, WCW and WWF really are dying off or retired all together.

Benoit died, Eddie Guerrero died, Rey Mysterio Jr almost got crippled, Chris Jericho may/may not stay retired, Dean Malenko is retired, William Regal almost DIED from the same heart condition that killed Eddie G, Lance Storm retired....

Just damn. Damn.

I really can't believe this. Eddie was sort of a shock, but not as much because of his past, but this is crazy. I'm shellshocked right now. I really haven't been into wrestling lately, but this is unbelievable.

In case nobody's watching yet, RAW has been canceled, and they're doing a live 3 hour tribute.

Raw did a great job with the tribute to Chris. When they showed that match when he won the world title from Triple H and seeing him cry cuz he won it then seeing Eddie cry with him that was so touching. This is truly a sad day for his fans, family, friends.

I find it kind of strange that Vince rushed to put on this 3 hour tribute to Chris when all indications are he murdered his family, then killed himself.

I didn't know about Sherry. At one time she was macho man Randy Savage's manager. Ms. Elizabeth also passed some time ago. I saw the news of Benoit on a crawler while watching larry King Live.

WWE.com has removed the tribute videos that appeared on RAW last night, and replaced them with videos and video clips of some of his matches. There will also be no tribute on ECW tonight, or SD on Friday.

I'm finding it hard to believe that Chris Benoit could have done this. No, I didn't know the man personally...but he was an idol of mine. One of the greatest professional wrestlers who ever lived. Just the mere thought that he was capable of committing such a heinous crime is beyond my comprehension.

I agree with everything you said from him as a worker (the BEST technical wrestler in the business) and I'm shocked even more now that they think he killed his wife and son on Saturday and then killed himself yesterday \:\(

There is a report out now that says he strangled his wife, and smothered his son over the weekend. He then hung himself on Monday. The report also states me may have been sending text messages to friends while watching the WWE PPV Sunday with his son. The contents of these messages are what caused friends to contact WWE officials, and then WWE officials to contact the authorities.
