What ever happened to his son Frank.You see him reading his letter to Vito when he first returns home and then..nothing.No mention of him at all.FFC could have gotten him involved in Part 3.I would have rather seen that than Vincent.Any thoughts?

By the way i did take note that in the novel,it says Sandra took off after Sonny's death and wanted nothing to do with the family.But still,Lucy Mancini never had a child from Sonny either.

Once again apologies if this has been posted before.I tried the search thingy and found nothing.All though its probably been posted before.

The novel and GFIII are two totally different animals. Especially in regards to Lucy/Sonny /Vincent.


I believe that in the extra footage scene at the begining of GFII, when Francesca is asking Michael for his permission to marry Garner Shaw, something is said about either Frank or Santino Jr. in that scene.

Perhaps someone else here can remember it more clearly.

I don't recall the novel stating that Sandra ran off. It says thatSonny did not leave an estate so some financial arrangements were made to sustain her.

Do a google search on Frank Corleone, and you will find out he became a sock puppet who was banned from Wikipedia.

And I, too, have no recollection in the novel that Sandra took off and wanted nothing to do with the family.

Not that it has killed off speculation. Weingaedner (or whatever his name is) has her moving to Florida to start a new life, and almost everyone here has discussed her possible relationship with Tom Hagen.

How about having a son born out of the Hagen-Sandra relationship pop out of the woodwork. He'd possibly be a schizophrenic...one minute banging tables and ordering everyone to be shot and the next minute calmly trying to find ways to peacefully "work things out." ;\)

I don't know why, but I seem to recall some sort of reference made that one of the Santino boys was playing high school or college football in Florida. Do you recall ever hearing something like that in one of the deleted scenes?

As you know, the DVD deleted scene featuring Francesca and Gardiner Shaw asking Michael's permission to be married ends with Michael telling Tom, "Be sure her dowry's big..." In the TV version of the Saga, that deleted scene has five or six additional seconds, in which Michael turns to a big, hulking young man in a plaid sport coat and says, "How's the football, Santino?" "Fine, Uncle Michael," he replies.

Yes he was. He changed his name to Sonny Crockett but unfortunatley he blew out his knee and he wound up becoming an undercover detective for the Dade County Miami Vice division.

Thanks for the feedback guys.But what i want to know is why couldn't they have made Frank(Santino Jnr) as the next person to take over.It makes a lot more sense to have done this instead of Vincent.

I still dont know why Puzo and FFC didn't have him in it.I personally would have rather seen Frank than Vincent take over the family.

I think that the only reason, they made up Vincent in part three (as he actually doesn't even exsist in the book) is because FFC, wanted his daughter to have a love interest, and it would have been frowned upon if it had been any of the full blooded cousins. \:x

Maybe FFC, having his daughter in the film, ruined the movie as he had to write the script around her stupid sub plot.
FFC's bias got in the way of what could of/should of been a great movie.

Vincent (Andy Garcia) was already in the film when Winona Ryder had to drop out. She was later REPLACED with Sofia Coppola.

That doesn't make a difference to the story plot as it was still a load of crap, making the cousins fall in love. The movie had so much more potential than that.
