A new beer coming out:

Coney Island has the beach, Boardwalk and a minor league ballpark - and now its own beer.

Schmaltz Brewing Co., which makes Jewish-themed He'brew ale, is launching Coney Island Lager as a tribute to the storied Brooklyn neighborhood of sideshows, sun and surf.

"We wanted to do something as Brooklyn as possible," said Schmaltz founder Jeremy Cowan, who lives in Prospect Heights. "It's a perfect way to tie into the history and tradition as well as the present and future."

The first bottles of Coney are being sold at the Freak Bar on Surf Ave. and a few other bars around the borough.

The beer - the first of a planned line of lagers - is made in tiny 50-keg batches at a small brewery in Clinton Hill.

It has an "approachable" taste that should appeal to a wide cross section of drinkers, Cowan said.

"This one is definitely a crowd-pleaser," he added.

So when are you gonna ship some my way?

Chow Mein on a bun, Lobster tail on a bun with tarter sauce, and BBQ Roast Pork bun!

They did away with all of those things!

No roast pork on a bun?

Well, the neighborhood HAS gone Muslim.

Basically all nathan's sells now are Hot Dogs, fries, burgers and pizza.

The rest of it has been sub-leased out to franchises like Aurther Treachers.

I went there last year looking to have their BBQ roast pork bun only to find out from a lady who works there that they no longer sell any of the sandwiches that I mentioned in my earlier post.

What is this world coming to then?

One thing is consistent on this board, there is always talk about food going on.

Yeah, this is like the cyber equivalent to The Godfather in two sense. Firstly, it's dedicated the film itself, and secondly, there's almost always talk of food.

UGH!!! Have I failed to mention here how much I HAAAAATE my job!!! I've been back 4 days from vacation and already I'm ready to bang heads. Maybe that's a new record, don't know. I've never seen such a group of people who'll pat you on the back with one hand and turn right around and stab you in the back with the next. I've vowed to just deal with these on work related items only. If they so much as say good morning to me I'm gonna moon them and tell them to kiss my fat ass. Picking up dog shit in a park has to be better then this place.
