Has anybody out there read this book? It was written by Michael Corbitt, who was the Chief of Police in Willow Springs, IL, and he was also on the payroll for the Chicago Outfit during the 60's, 70's, and 80's. He was supposedly close with Sam Giancana, Sal Bastone and Hy Larner. It's an interesting book, I'm just curious if what he says in the book is true or if he just made up a bunch of stuff to sell the book.
No but by the sounds of it i would like to.Im going to have a quick scan on amazon for this.I know what you mean about making stuff up to sell a book i thought the same after i had read double cross by Sam Giancanas brother chuck and after reading gus russos The Outfit (excellent by the way) some things just dont add up.
If i come across the table and take your f*****g eyes out ,will you remember
Corbitt makes some pretty strong accusations in his book. Things like the Outfit was behind political assassinations, 1 failed (Castro) and 1 successful (Kennedy), how they were major players in the Iran/Contra affair, he says that Jimmy Hoffa was put into a vat of zinc at one of the Detroit auto plants. I'm sure there is some embellishment in some of his tales to boost sales, but I'm curious about how much is factual and how much is BS.
