Good memory. Lennon was shot outside his apartment building, The Dakota, there.

Aside from gaining popularity due to the various celebrities that have lived there over the years, it became well known when it was used as the apartment building that Mia Farrow and John Cassavettes lived in, in the Roman Polanski movie 'Rosemary's Baby.'

There is a lot of HISTORY in that building.

Yoko Ono still lives there. I believe their apartment is on the 4th floor correct? I wonder what they look like on the inside. From the outside there's nothing really grand about it. You'd never know it was The Dakota except for the tourists all getting their pictures taken in front of it. Present company included. \:\)

I haven't been inside of it since I was a kid. From what I remember, it was nothing special.

That's the thing about Manhattan, especially the Upper West Side, an exceptionally "artsy" neighborhood. There's really nothing special about alot of the apartments themselves.

But hey, it's New York, right?
