Ok so ive been a huge fan of the trilogy for years but had never ever read the book.So lately i had been looking around book shops to see where i could pick it up at the best price. All the shops were roughly the same price, which was $24(Aus).Now as much as i was dying to read it i dont have that sought of money to spend.(I love my beer).Anyway i decided to go around and check out some Op shops and second hand book stores. After spending half a day visiting these stores i still hadn't been able to acquire a copy.I walked back to the train station and as i was walking up the platform i remembered a book store called "Out there culture books".I walked back down the ramp and although thinking the book wouldn't be there, i walked to the shop and went in.The first thing i notice is comic books.Lots and lots of comic books. As i used to be a fan of comic books when i was younger i had a look through some of the comics first. There were some pretty old issues that probably would have been worth money had they been in good condition.I walk up to the guy at the counter(who is also a weed dealer) and i ask him if he had a copy of the Godfather. He replied"I dont bloody know mate, you'll have to look for it your self".He directed me to the fiction section and i began to look. They were in no sought of order at all.It was just hundreds of random books on about ten shelves. After looking for about ten minutes, my finger slid across" Mario Puzo The Godfather.YES i thought .I snatched it out of the shelf and opened it up.On the back of the cover it had $1 written on it.I thought "no way".I walk up to the counter and ask him how much it was.He opened the book and said"1 buck mate".I could not believe my luck.I had scored a classic novel of my favourite story for a dollar.A dollar!!!Im now about to start reading it.All that searching paid off.

That is a bargain: $1.00 AUD = $0.84 USD = .42 GBP -- I see Puzo books all the time in used bookstores here...
I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! lol Whaddaya want me to do? Whack a guy? Off a guy? Whack off a guy? --Peter Griffin My DVDs | Facebook | Godfather Filming Locations

Good for you. I bought a copy from Goodwill thrift store a couple years ago. What did you think of the Luca storyline? Hey Mignon.I loved the Luca part in the novel but it also left me wanting more Oh..the chapter on Lucy Mancini towards the end of the book was a bit ...eh... Oh well. One of the best books ive read non the less.

Well i just finished the novel.A bloody good read. But it sought of felt that the last few chapters were a bit rushed. It seemed to go all too easy with the killings.Granted, the other families thought it was Michael who was going to die,but each killing took about a paragraph or two to explain. It just seemed rushed compared to some of the vivid detail earlier on in the novel. That being said though,i really enjoyed reading it.
