No, no, I wouldn't open the actual E-mail, but I'm even scared of seeing the subject of the E-mail in my inbox (I got notified of the E-mail via MSN Messenger, not by opening my inbox).

I don't subscribe to that service so I can't say .... I doubt, however, that HBO would do such a thing (put a spoiler in the subject line).
