You come to a fork in the road where there are two guards standing. There are two roads you can take - one way provides safe passage while the other is populated with bandits. One of the guards always tells the truth, while the other always lies, but you don't know who does what.

You are only allowed to ask one question to figure out which is the safe road. What is the one question?

The biggest threat to humanity?

In a word, vampires.

Ask, "which road will the other guy tell me to take?".

1 - It's been kind of a strange fantasy baseball season thus far. JL is missing a lot of days. TM hasn't missed any. JG refuses to stay in the chick sandwich. ;\)

2 - I have pitching available in Yahoo baseball, if anyone is interested. \:D

3 - The next time a college basketball coach is up in arms about losing a recruit, he need only look at the Billy Donovan episode to figure out that he should keep quiet. While players are usually vilified for turning their backs on letters of intent, coaches are generally lauded when they move on to better opportunities. I am not against someone trying to better his situation - it's the hypocrisy that bugs me.

4 - I'm preparing my essays for my business school apps. Some of the questions are pretty standard (e.g. what are your long-term goals and why this school?) while some of the questions are interesting (e.g. what is the number one threat to humanity?). It'll be tough to answer the humanity question in fewer than 500 words.

5 - When I'm done with b-school apps, I'm jumping into Seasons 3+ of "24" and no one is going to stop me. \:D

6 - Where's Zia been hiding? Is she still distraught over potentially losing Kobe? \:p

7 - Please - no more rainouts for the rest of the season.

8 - You guys have any thoughts to the humanity question? My initial inclination would be to write about the environmental consequences of the industrial revolution in China. Or I could write about Paris Hilton. Whichever.

9 - I'm looking forward to the NBA Finals for the first time in a while. Mainly, I want to see how LeBron will do on the big stage.

10 - Here's a riddle for all of you (oldie, but a goodie):

You come to a fork in the road where there are two guards standing. There are two roads you can take - one way provides safe passage while the other is populated with bandits. One of the guards always tells the truth, while the other always lies, but you don't know who does what.

You are only allowed to ask one question to figure out which is the safe road. What is the one question?

NO MENTION OF ME?!?! I would have answered that humanity question too....

Don't feel bad, DMC. DS "says" that I'm his favorite lurker and I didn't get a mention either. \:\(

As for JG, isn't that just like a man, Beth?? Refusing to stay in his place!

DS, Essays for apps?? I'll be doing those with my daughter in a few months, since she'll be whittling down her college choices. I am SO not looking forward to that. The greatest threat to humanity? I'm inclined to think that it would have to be the internet, message boards, fantasy sports, they all take away from the time that families used to spend together. Hey, wait a minute... \:o

Since Paris Hilton was mentioned, did anyone see the video of her when she ran out of gas?? Unbelievable...

That's due to all the logical reasoning questions on the LSATs. He's used to it. ;\)

As for your assertion that "you guys" means me and DMC, Gee, I feel bathed in the love now.

anyway, cutting down the DNP's from 50 to 5 did make a good idea \:D

CC: Sorry for cursing Germano by picking him up in Yahoo... the day before I released Shill's no-hit bid, of course...

I can make or break any MLB player's career singlehandedly! \:o

Funny, I had 3 Yahoo pitchers going tonight, that were all chosen in this game. Penny (23) worked out... but Germano (-7) erased Pettitte's (8) petite score... \:\/

I didn't? I could swear I did. Maybe the utter shock of seeing my score put me in a trance, and I just imagined I did. Oh well, can't be worse then yesterday. Can it?

Did you see the (-43) I took with the Phillies staff. \:\( Thankfully, Paul Konerko brought me to an overall (-20) for the day. \:\/

I was too busy looking at the -43 I got from The Mets.

Okay, was I going dyslexically crazy last night thinking Phils got -43 (like the Mets) and now it says "only" -34?

I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! tongue lol

You know, your "good guy" image is starting to fade. \:p

I blame this all on you! I cringed at every strikeout, knowing not only that it was hurting us, but also that it was helping you. \:p

But Zambrano owns us. Can't deny that.

I can't find the stats I wanted to cite, but I know he had a very low ERA against us already.
