Rumor has it that Turnbull once was drinking wine (heavily) while visiting his friend who is an auto mechanic. While deep in converstion about cars Turnbull reached behind himself for a glass but accidentally grabbed a carrafe with some used engine oil. Before he realized his mistake he took a sip and then, without missing a beat, he pronounced it as from a 1940 Buick Special, Model 46C, Straight Eight Cylinder.
