I am reminded here of a famous George Bernard Shaw line. A young writer had sent Shaw an original manuscript, seeking the great critc's opinion of his work. Shaw scathingly panned the book and returned it to the young writer, who immediately advised Shaw that he could not possibly have read the whole book because the aspiring writer had purposely pasted two pages together, and they remained pasted when Shaw returned the book.
Shaw replied, "I don't have to eat a whole egg to know it's rotten!"

That said, I don't think GIII is a bad movie. It has its problems (George Hamilton is no Duvall...and the love affair between cousins is awkward...and it certainly can't stand with its predecessors), but I still watch it.
