If the past is any indicator, I think Memorial Day will be the beginning of the higher prices. Don't they usually "justify" the higher fuel costs throughout the summer, stating that more people are driving and on vacations? It has been ridiculously high since Katrina IMO and it has not really let up. My guess is that it will approach/exceed $4 per gallon by Labor Day 2007.

I remember there is a scene in Die Hard where the Twinkee eating cop is next to a gas sign. Wanna know what it was in 1988 in California, when the movie was made? $.88!!
