==============================================================
This movie is excellent and Stallone should have been nominated for an academy award. Rocky has always been a winner even in the worst of times when Rocky was down for the count. Stallone is a master at bringing magic to this character. Rocky is better than Rambo and more believable at times since this film was based on George Forman’s return and subsequent win over a younger opponent. This movie is also a somber one since, Adrian has passed away from cancer and Rocky is left without direction. Paulie tries his best and in one deleted scene breaks down and states that he should have died instead of his sister. Paulie also praises Rocky for putting up with him. The ending of the film is a bit different since Rocky losses the fight to Dixon in a split decision. The alternate ending had Rocky winning the fight over Dixon. IMHO Rocky actually did win the fight. One thing that ponders me is why didn’t Sage Stallone reprise his role as Robert Balboa? Milo Ventimiglia did a so so job as Robert. The extras on the DVD are very good and there is an interview with Stallone who discusses the character in depth.
