I live in a horrid place called Queensbury... It's pretty much a suburb of Albany. I'm about a three hour drive from Manhattan, two and a half hours if you have the right plan of attack to throw at the highway.
Why don't you just transfer to NYU or Columbia, liberal ground, where you'll be safe.
