Ronnie's Rasslin Video Round-Up #2

Want to know how Pro Wrestling works?

If you're a green horn, NBC did one of those "Exposed" programs from back in 1998 which gives you a basic ordinance run-through of how certain moves and showmanship are pulled off.

Its work for that reason, but damn the program's slant that wrestling fans are outright retarded not "noticing" the moves....umm jackass, most fans KNOW its not real fighting. They know its pre-planned. There are intelligent people who love the operatic ballet of it.

But, at least you learn what a blade-job is.

I saw this commercial earlier tonight, and of course, it's on YouTube.

Starburst

I don't know why, but I love this.

That was a good ad. Thanks Gina.

Ronnie's Rasslin Video Round-Up #3

Ahh, Macho Man Randy Savage...where has you and your Slim Jim Beef Jerky-schilling-ass been of late?

Is it me, or does the guy in his prime sound like hes constipated at times?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eXF4Q7qPbkI&NR=1

Anyway, you all want a good laugh? Take this WCW match that Savage did with Hulk Hogan. Hogan is choked unconcious, and Savage revives him....with his flying elbow.

I know watching pro wrestling is about suspending belief, but GOD DAMN...

Ronnie's Rasslin Video Round-Up #4

Mick "Mankind" Foley and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson...two wrestlers that had some good matches from the infamous "I Quit" match(PWI's 1999 Match of the Year) and the "Empty Arena" title match shown during Halftime of Super Bowl XXXIII.

This was very damn funny:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=uy5wxT5MVgs

Watch the Rock....trying, and failing, to keep from laughing.

Sounds to me like "Berries and cream, berries and cream, I'm a little lad who loves berries and cream!"

He reminds me a lot of Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka because of his hairstyle and pale face...and his facial expressions are hilarious.

That's bloody awesome DA. I wish NFL games would have an ambulance drive onto the field, and players fleeing for their lives. Ratings would go up.

God, I miss the days when EA Sports had fun with athlete characters getting the crap beaten out of them, bleeding and fighting(like their once great NHL series.)

Remember SWINGERS?

"I just made Gretzky's head bleed!"

I think I posted the parade scene already, but here's another great one from Ferris Bueller:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FqV1TB46lw4

We actually studied in school about the painting that Cameron stares at - "A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte." Another that we studied, "The Bath," is also in this clip. Almost makes it interesting to learn about, when it's featured in one of my favorite movies. ;\)

The Jerk
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rxhMCkcOwZk
This was on TV a few days ago, and my brother caught part of it. He loved this scene, which is really saying something about this movie, because he doesn't laugh at much unless he "discovers" it himself.

And some Blues Brothers for DA...

Rubber Biscuit
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jYyBZE0kBtE
I'd try so hard to imitate Elwood on this when I was younger.

I Can't Turn You Loose and Hey bartender

Jailhouse Rock
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DebG06_CPmc

They had great chemistry. You can just tell they are all loving what they're doing.

Thanks. I can't get the song out of my head. Now I can sing it. I don't know why I love this commercial.

Ronnie's Rasslin Video Round-Up #5: The Undertaker vs Mankind: Hell in A Cell, 1998 King of the Ring

The one match with two infamous falls(first scripted, the second a horrific accident) that guaranteed a comfortable lecture/book financial career for crazy bastard Mick Foley("Mankind"/"Dude Love"/"Cactus Jack"). Pro Wrestling Illustrated's Match of the Year for 1998.

I know it looks really made up and lavish and resembles a music video, but believe it or not, this is actual live footage from an RHCP show in Long Beach from 1990.

I love how young and energetic Frusciante is. It's like having a second Flea on stage.

Better yet DMC, isn't Undertaker supposed to have supernatural powers for a dead man? I'm sure he could have cured his bodily vessel without quack doctors.

Thanks DA! I think what the film MAN OF THE MOON really didn't get the grasp of what was so funny about that Kaufman sketch, because when the dumb skit dies in the middle when Kaufman forgot his lines, the audience is thinking, "What the hell is going on?" Then Richards brings out the cue cards. Funny shit.

Nevermind Kaufman getting pissy(or provoking) and starting a little schuffle.

What I dig about Kaufman is that he understood the athletic art and showmanship of Pro Wrestling, years before the smarks existed in mass. He played himself as the Hollywood elitist jackass heel to the Jerry "The King" Lawler-face very darn well.

Just watch the infamous brawl with Lawler on David Letterman's show

Ronnie's Rasslin Video Round-Up #6: Kurt Angle vs Shawn Michaels, Wrestlemania 21

Another classic, this time we have a 5-star Wrestlemania match that was PWI's 2005 Match of the Year.

Seriously, I miss Angle in the WWE. Before his injuries and reported painkiller-addiction got the best of him and got his tail shipped to TNA, "The Wrestling Machine" was one of the few people, along with Jericho, Benoit, etc., that you would pay to watch wrestle. (Seriously, imagined if he had worked a program with Bret Hart. Damn you Goldberg!)

Put him together with another great performer in "The Heart Break Kid", and you have a highly-anticipated match that actually met the expectations.

Ronnie's Rasslin Video Round-Up #7: Bret Hart vs "Stone Cold" Steve Austin: Submission Match, Wrestlemania 13

Into 1997, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin was a rule breaking heel that was feuding seriously against Bret "The Hitman" Hart and the Hart Foundation.

This 5-star classic match I think began the "Stone Cold" legend. Austin went from a baddie into a badass overnight, while Hart went from hero to despised.

What I loved most though, besides the legendary finisher, is the storytelling. In a submissions-only match, one would figure Hart the technical-master whore would win easily, so what could Austin do to win? Why beat the hell out of Hart!

God, I love this match.

Ronnie's Rasslin Video Round-Up #9: The Madison Square Garden Incident May 19, 1996

"The Kliq" that dominated the WWF backstage politics in 1996 consisted of friends Shawn Michaels, Diesel(Kevin Nash), Razor Ramon(Scott Hall), and Hunter Hearst Hemsley(later Triple H). By May 1996, Hall and Nash were leaving the WWF for better pay-contracts over at WCW and at Madison Square Garden, they performed their last WWF program at a house show.

The hero Michaels just beat the baddie Diesel in the show's main event steel cage match. Scott Hall came into the ring to hug Michaels, but that was no big deal. Both were faces at the time.

Its when the "heel" Hemsley, who earlier that night lost a match to Hall, walked into the ring and hugged Michaels and Hall...then Nash gets up and hugs his "enemies" as well.

Notice the kid's voice that goes "WHAT?!?!", with many other people, when this happened.

Mind you, WWF was still absolute strict in trying to keep kayfabe real, and when these 4 workers broke kayfabe and broke that illusion to an audience, there was hell to pay.

But Nash and Hall were off to WCW, and Michaels was a hot-ticket main event guy, so all the punishment for the "Madison Square Garden incident" was Helmsley. He went from heavily-pushed future main event wrestler into a "jobber to the stars"(i.e. lose all the time to the stars). He was slated to win the 1996 King of the Ring tournament, but instead it was given to another wrestler.

A wrestler named Steve Austin.

LLC, maybe you're just rambling on like a madman (as usual!! \:p ) , but I'd guess this is an actual list of tags someone had for a video?

I've seen that a lot - users will list a whole bunch of random words and topics so that people who search for those things will incidentally come across their videos. I guess it's happened to me because some stuff that I get in the results has nothing to do with what I searched for.

Gina, what can I say? Some people are absolute attention whores who need people to LOOK at their stuff and COMMENT on their stuff.

So, anyone watched those last few videos I posted? Anyone? I would dig comments on them.

I was making fun of one I saw, actually. About half of it is real, and then midway through I just started word associating to mock it.

"Somebody told me when the bomb hits, everybody in a two mile radius will be instantly sublimated, but if you lay face down on the ground for some time, avoiding the residual ripples of heat, you might survive, permanently fucked up and twisted like you're always underwater refracted. But if you do go gas, there's nothing you can do if the air that was once you is mingled and mashed with the kicked up molecules of the enemy's former body. Big-kid-tested, motherf--ker approved."
