I hate cleaning my microwave. First of all, it's above the stove, so it's hard to reach. And there's all these gross little food bits stuck on. I saw a cleaning tip for the job on TV. Take a bowl full of water and squeeze a half a lemon into it, then put the lemon in the bowl of water and lemon juice, place it in the microwave, and cook on high in your microwave for a minute or two (depending on how strong your microwave is, and how dirty it is). The woman on TV said that the lemon juice steam would allow you to simply wipe the microwave clean afterwards.
I found this hard to believe, so I tried it this morning. It works like a charm, and I was so delighted that I wanted to share it here.

Any cleaning helpful tips are always appreciated. How do you clean the Zucchini splatters out of the microwave? Don Cardi Aren't you supposed to lick those up? Don Cardi Depends whether or not they are breaded.

I hire a nice woman that cleans my microwave, toaster oven, floors and bathroom once every two weeks. Does she have a sister who works cheaply on the East coast? For those of us without lemons, SB's suggestion of heating up water in the microwave works fine without lemons, too. Heat up about two cups of water (about 3-5 minutes) and LEAVE it inside with the door closed for about 15 minutes. I tried it a few times and am amazed (to find out) that the inside of my microwave is white!

Thats a "Lori" tip. She owns more cleaning stuff than any woman alive (and her house looks it as a result). She came over to my apartment once to watch a movie... she was gonna put some popcorn in my microwave when I heard some choking noise... I thought my cat was gagging on a hairball but it was Lori after she saw the inside of my microwave. 15 minutes later she had it sparkling clean. Women stuff.

I don't have to close my eyes and imagine very hard to picture that happening Lori and I share an affinity for handbags and cleaning products.

Actually, they're little irish people and they do a heck of a job. I just set some whiskey close by and they go to work. Try it. They are so happy to work for an Italian.
