IMO Babel is full of characters that I can empathize with and hence it gets me involved deeply with the film. On the other hand, notwithstanding the excellent editing, Departed is full of indifferent guys. Some years from now, I will be tempted to revisit Babel and probably forget Departed. But I have to say that I enjoyed Departed thoroughly and I have already watched it twice. Little Miss Sunshine has a predictable story and is not worthy of Oscar.
