This would be the first of the final 8 episodes for The Sopranos. I can imagine it now...Christopher, Paulie, Benny, and Carlo at Arties joint. They start breaking eachother's balls and what not, but Benny pushes Artie's buttons a bit. These two have had trouble before. Anyway Artie is offended by what Benny says and tells Benny's wife he cheated on her. Ms. Fazio being pregnant and upset throws Benny out of the house. Benny, furious, goes to kill Artie. I just hate Artie's character, Chase needs to find a way to kill him!

Artie has never annoyed me the way that Janice has, purely because Artie at heart is a very decent man. I can see why some people find him annoying though - I just love the scene in Season 5 when Carmela asks Tony to dinner at Vesuvios to inform him she's proceeding with the divorce, and Artie's hovering the whole time (TONY : Go stand over there, I'll call you when I'm ready)
Artie walks a fine line - he's not a wiseguy but technically, he's one of the 'guys'. I like his scenes very much and John Ventimiglia does a sterling job in portraying the character.

Yeah that suprised me too. How would a Enforcer type like Benny get his ass whipped by a bald chef?

I think Artie could take out Benny. Artie (i think) is had it with Tony and the wise guy thing. After Tony burned down the old Vesuvio, Artie never really got revenge. Maybee he is getting filled with rage inside, and simply had enough. Tony and Artie has always been friends, but still Tony has disrespected him, troughout time. You see it in season 6, when Artie attacks Benny. He simply had it, and now he cant controll he´s rage no more... Just a personal theory..
I don't know nothin'. I don't see nothin'. I don't hear nothin'. When I do I don't tell the cops. Understand?

I love the scene in one of the very early episodes right after Vesuvio's burns down. Artie is catering a party for Tony and Carmela and Tony tells him to stop whining about his life. Artie gets offended and wales him in the face with a slice of cold cuts, it looks VERY serious until Tony wales him right back and a food fight breaks out between them, with Carmela smiling in the background. Artie was clearly very close to Tony to get away with such a thing. You wonder if he could get away with it now considering how their relationship stands today.

Yeah, Artie's a pain in the ass. A chef who won't stay in the kitchen. Typical diva. Always walking the dining room, in his clean white chef's coat. While 2 poor Peruvian guys are in the kitchen, cranking out 200 covers all by themselves, for 550 a week apiece and all the tap beer they can drink. Phew, I was starting to rant....too many years in the restaurant business. Sorry guys. Anyhoo, I loved it a few years ago when he loaned the money to the French guy. He's rehearsing what he's gonna say in the mirror, a la Travis Bickle. Then gets himself smacked around like a little bitch. Hysterical. John Ventimiglia does a great job with the character.
